A Salute to the Veterans

I posted this over at JasonGrimes.com, but if you didn’t see it, it applies to GrimesTribe too.
I was watchingĀ ESPNā€™s First Take SportsĀ this morning and they had Tom Selleck ofĀ Magnum PIĀ on my show since he is a former Sgt. during the Vietnam era. He said it bestā€¦something to the effect of ā€œThey just served, and we need to thank them [our troops] regardless of how we feel personally about the conflictā€ I totally agree.

Today, I wanted to take a moment and thank my Veteran Heroā€™s that I know personally:

  • My Grandfather Grimes, Lefty served in the Navy duringĀ WW II
  • My Grandfather Peterson, Marlin served in the Army duringĀ WW II
  • My Father, Ray served during the Vietnam era
  • My Good Friend Randy and his Wife served after school in various positions as Air Force Officers

You deserve more than 1 day, you should be in our thoughts every day.

Now, itā€™s my responsibility (and yours) to teach my son the same level of respect.
