Over winter break we went to AZ in search of sunshine!
Thank you Jeanne and Jim for hosting us in Dillon, MT at the Homestead.
Whoa, did we need that. Yes, it was just 2 days spent away from Bellevue/Seattle, but we really needed it. The drive up on Friday night wasn’t bad. On Jess’s advice we waited until after 7pm and traffic had died down before we made the 4 hour drive north. We got in around 10:30pm and we’re pretty tired. Jake had his first “big boy” bed and he did his best to sleep in it, although he still needed mom 🙂
Here’s roughly what we did in our 2 days there:
Coffee. Yes, started 6am. Jake ordered a steamed milk the wife had some Banana bread and I had my favorite “Vancouver oat bar” that you can’t get in the states. We then went to breakfast at the hotel and our waitress was from Switz and spoke like 5 languages. Incredibly nice lady.
Next stop, Stanley Park and to check out the Totem Poles – note, Nam/Bop we have better high resolution photos that you will like. We also got our picture taken in the hollowed out tree! Then Jake and I took off for a playground where he rode an old fire engine.
Next stop, Vancouver Aquarium. Wow, their aquarium was gorgeous. Special white fin dolphins, otters, beluga whale, sharks, jellyfish, penguins. Lots of pictures yet to come.
Second day. Light shopping, packing, breakfast and heading home.
