Jake’s Letter to Future Self
Letters to Bean SchoolOn his last week of school, Jake’s teachers asked the students to write a letter to themselves they could read in 5-10 years. Here’s what Jake wrote…

Dear Future Self,
My future self is probably not going to be reading this but in case you are, here’s how you were able to manage your school this year.
I liked having the joy of market place but also learning the value of spending and earning and employment. It was such a joyous occasion and the times of seeing other kid’s stuff that they made.
Even though homework was a bit of a struggle, it seemed kind of rewarding when you’re finished. Probably when I’m older it’ll be non-rewarding and l’ll just procrastinate and I will feel like it’s not worth it at all. But still it felt rewarding finishing it, that’s what I loved about it.
Remember how fun science was getting to see creatures and learning about them, teaching you how things work like the universe. But now it’s just probably history lessons for you. Do you remember when remote learning was a thing? Working from home spending time with your family who could help you with the learning as well as support you. You didn’t have to do everything on a specific schedule and could do whatever you want whenever you want, like take breaks, play with your dog, watching videos and all the good stuff. But it was challenging, Lexia and dream box were just a pain in the butt to deal with after you’ve done so much work. I know it seemed like a pain and it did because it was a pain but you’re done with DreamBox and Lexia unlike me. I am very envious of You me.
I’m looking forward to fifth grade because I can’t wait for more science just learning how things work and how things develop like creatures it’s just so interesting to me and what I’m looking forward to in 10 years in college. College it’s cool, it’s true I like it. Roommates, having my own free will, eating bagels when it’s 10 o’clock at night, getting to explore my passions such as art and science. What’s my future career choice? Weeeeeeeeeellllll I want to be a paleontologist. I wanna be an artist for a big corporation or just do standalone art. I want to be a comedian. I want to be an actor for an awesome show or a comedic tone for a show. Yeah, that’s it. I want to live in Canada upon the higher mountains shoveling snow or in Los Angeles it’s a lot cooler and more chill.(GET IT! ) Future me if you’re reading this you’re doing good who’s your past self I’m just talking to myself literally goodbye.
Sincerely,
Jake Grimes
Jake’s country report on England
Family SchoolSo proud of Jake’s presentation on England. He memorized his lines and even acted them out!
Medina Field Opens with Love
SchoolJake’s field has been closed all year because they replaced gravel with turf and the turf install has been delayed due to a VERY wet year. But alas, with seven days left in the school year, the field opened with love and I got to join Jake on the field opening day.
Can you find us in the pic? Hint: we are towards the top.
Kindergarten end of year project
Favorites School Video VideosYes this is going up one year late but we recently got the class recordings from Jake’s Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. McQuade and I’m so excited to share his project. The art teacher filmed them in front of green screen and then edited their drawings as a backdrop.
This is Jake’s portion of the clip:
And here is the full recording. You can see that Jake was by far the longest and most detailed presentation. The boy is a teacher at heart! And in case you are wondering what’s up with his shirt, he had to turn around the (very large) Godzilla shirt he was wearing because it had green on it which doesn’t work well with green screen. Apparently we missed the memo — or forgot — to not wear green that day. Yay for parenting!
