Watching the news in #Boston is one thing, having a coworker who was there 1 block away tell their story in person is a completely different

It was pretty amazing really. She described the explosions, the ground shaking for blocks, knowing that it was likely a bomb, rumors spread across the race, subways closed to protect the public but which meant people were packed in small areas all trying to exit without mass transit. She talked about when she saw her loved ones she hugged them tight – I can’t imagine. Watching the news 3000 miles away you don’t get that intimacy.

More Pictures Of The Southern California Wildfires

This was passed on from my wife’s family friends in San Diego, CA.  Their son-in-law is a firefighter in the area so it hits especially close to home.

Note: I received these images from a friend of a friend, so if any of them are copyrighted let me know and I will credit/remove where appropriate.

They included the following message:

In October 2007, over a dozen wildfires across Southern California, United States forced the evacuation of thousands of residents. This evacuation comes almost four years to the day after the Cedar Fire of 2003.

At least one person has been reported dead. Fires burned in Malibu, Lake Arrowhead, Irvine, San Diego, and many other places. California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency in

Los Angeles, Orange, Poway, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties as a result. This is the worst case of wildfires Southern California has ever had.

Pray for all the people that have lost their homes.
Pray these fires die down soon.
Pray for the firefighters and their safety.

Pass this on.
No, you won’t die in 48 hours if you don’t, but you need to inform people.
That’s why we have bulletins right?

Opening Day of Boating 2007

Opening Day of Boating is always a exciting!

The weather is usually bad, the boats are usually rocking and it’s wwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy to early to have to get up to get a spot; especially considering it was Cinco de Mayo.  I went with Jessica, Dan and Abbey.  We got a spot opposite of the log boom about half way down the course.  It was awesome to catch the crew races, yacht parade and other organizations travel by.

I know it’s still winter, but the weather has been nice.
Here are some shots from the Jobster office’s deck (deckster).

Seahawks vs Cowboys Wild Card Game

This was incredible game to have the opportunity to attend!  A friend and colleague, John Bergen had an extra ticket and I got a chance to see one of the great games in Seahawks history.  It was pretty amazing to see Romo mishandle the snap that ultimately cost them the game.
