We had a great walk!

Jake’s 1st volunteer event went great! He carried the memory flower the whole way.

Thank you Mom and Dad, Julie, Nicki, Andy, & Jason for your support! Alzheimer’s is a terrible disease and I hope none of us get it!

Binky

Jake gave up his binky today. The binky fairy came while he was at school and gave them to all the babies that need them. We had a tough ride home with a scream and a cry but we took him to the park and he was fine.

We were expecting a huge melt down at bedtime but not one single tear. He asked for his binky but we explained where they went and he was fine. I was so proud of little man’s maturity. I couldn’t believe he didn’t cry!

We’ll see how the middle of the night goes but tonight was a mile stone of growing up with grace. =)

We love you little man and are so sorry you had to lose something so near and dear to your heart! Thank you for helping to give your binks to all the babes in the world who need them most!

Mom & Dad

1st words

It’s way overdue but I need to record Jake’s first words so we don’t forget so here it goes…

1st word was Dada.  Not just baby babel but actually associating Jason with Dada.  I can’t remember but I think this happened around 6 months.

2nd word – itty (meaning kitty) this came shortly after Dada.  The cat being the most exciting furry, moving creature in the house.  We are still overjoyed every time she comes remotely close (almost never).

3rd, 4th 5th and 6th were – gog (for dog), ball, truck, and mom/momom which all came just after his 1st birthday.  Primary care taker had to wait a year for a name…what up with that!

All after a year he started picking up more words and was able to use sign language for milk, change, more, all done, and bath.  The funniest thing is to watch generalization.  Milk sign for everything and everything that moves is a gog.

Playing in the dirt

Jake got to play in the sandbox for the 1st time today.  I know it’s sad that his mom didn’t take him to play in dirt until he was over a year old but we conquered!
