Baby’s Movin!

I started to feel Bean move this week!  He is most active right in the middle of the day.  Let’s hope he keeps that up all the way through post birth!  We also had another healthy doctor visit.  His heart beat is super cute and the belly is growing right on schedule.

A Day of Hope

Hey Little Bean,

Today is a very important day filled with hope and pride.  Today is the day the 44th president of the United States (your country although you don’t know that yet) will be sworn in.  President Barack Obama represents hope for positive change in a country that quite literally feels like it is crumbling around us.  Your father and I feel hopeful that greed will no longer run the most influential corporations and our government.  We have hope that we can afford your college education and most of all hope that a better country will be there for you and your children-should you choose to have them.

There has never been more excitement around a new president.  Not only does President Obama bring hope for change and the empowerment of the people to help create that change; President Obama is making history as the first black American president.  We just celebrated Martin Luther King Day yesterday which honors a man that stood up for change and hope of equality for all races.  Within the last 50 years our country was moving towards civil rights and now we have a black leader.

I am proud to live in a country and world where you can do anything you desire.  We are so proud and excited to bring you into this world.  And today more than ever we are hopeful that you will have the opportunity to follow your dreams.

We love you Bean!

Bean has fingerprints!

According to our weekly pregnancy email……Bean has fingerprints! 🙂

Congratulations, Jessica! You’re 14 Weeks Pregnant. Your baby measures about 3.2 to 4.1 inches from crown to rump and weighs almost an ounce. The ears are shifting from the neck to the sides of the head, and the neck is getting longer and chin more prominent. Facial features and unique fingerprints are all there. Your baby is beginning to respond to outside stimuli. If your abdomen is poked, the fetus will try to wriggle away. You’re probably wearing maternity clothes – or at least looser fitting ones — now. Your skin and muscles are starting to stretch to accommodate your growing baby and you may be constipated since pregnancy hormones relax the bowel.

Baby’s 1st Book: Signed by a movie star

At the mall today and noticed Josie Bissett (former actress on Melrose Place) was doing a book signing of her book, Tickle Monster.  Very excited to say that Baby’s first book is signed by a movie star no less!  Total rock star energy is already starting!!!
