Happy 7th Birthday Molly

Molly turned 7 on 9/20. We are so happy to have her in the family. When we adopted her from college students, her name was Malana. Jake was little and thought she looked more like a Molly. I was curious about the meaning of her original name and it is so perfect!

Malana

Meaning:Buoyant; Light. A lively name for your bouncing baby girl, Malana is a culturally-rich choice. The title is Hawaiian in origin, and means “buoyant” and “light.” With such a cheerful name, there’s no doubt that this bundle of joy will radiate happiness.

Mudroom/Storage Room

The biggest eyesore in our home when we bought it is what we call the mudroom. It’s right off the garage and had old cabinets and benches in a lovely peach color. Bleh! We used it as our overflow storage space for toys, clothes, art frames, shoes, kitchen goods and our junk drawer. Pretty much everything but the kitchen sink!

Check out our before pics below. Nasty right?!

So we ripped out the cabinets, painted the wainscoting white, repaired the floor, and called in California Closets to the rescue.

Here are a couple during pics…

Waited 5 months for the install and then another month because they installed the wrong backing and forgot a door. Side note: we have never had an issue with California Closets so chalking it up to simple human mistake in passing info onto the install team. Post-pandemic companies are struggling with staffing so we are grateful to have anything done! They sent a senior install team to finish our project and we are stoked with how it turned out.

The lighting is super dated and the furnace needs a door just around the corner but we are in no rush, lots to unpack here…literally and figuratively, lol! 😂
